The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) at TGTWRDC (G), Dammapeta is a dedicated platform established to empower female students, helping them become self-reliant, confident, and socially responsible individuals.
Since the college is a residential degree college for girls, the WEC plays a vital role in their overall development.
Core Objectives of WEC:
1. Self-Reliance: To promote a culture of entrepreneurship and financial independence among girl students.
2. Awareness: To create awareness about women's rights, gender equality, and legal protections.
3. Skill Development: To organize training programs in life skills, leadership, and vocational crafts.
4. Health & Hygiene: To educate students on reproductive health, nutrition, and mental well-being.
5. Safety: To provide a secure environment and train students in self-defense techniques.
Key Activities & Initiatives:
6. Legal Literacy Programs: Conducting seminars on Indian laws related to women (e.g., POSH Act, Domestic Violence Act) with the help of legal experts.
7. Entrepreneurship Workshops: Organizing sessions on small-scale businesses like tailoring, handicraft making, or digital marketing to encourage "Earn while you Learn."
8. Health Camps: Regular medical check-ups and awareness sessions on anemia, menstrual hygiene, and nutrition.
9. Personality Development: Hosting guest lectures by successful women achievers to inspire students.
Gender Sensitization: Organizing rallies, poster presentations, and debates on social issues like child marriage and dowry.
10. Internal Complaints Committee (ICC): Acting as a grievance redressal body to address any issues of harassment or discrimination within the campus.

To mold the young women of Dammapeta into leaders of tomorrow who can contribute effectively to the economy and society while upholding their dignity and rights.
