NCC Song       Click Here

1. In January 1956, the necessity for an official NCC song was discussed at the Circle Commanders’ Conference, leading to the adoption of “Kadam Mila Ke Chal” in 1962, which was registered in 1969 with the Ministry of Defence.

2. By 1974, it was recognized that the original NCC song did not resonate with youth, prompting a search for new lyrics that garnered 107 submissions; however, all were deemed substandard by the appointed judge, Dr. Nagendra.

3. Dr. Nagendra suggested that the project be assigned to Shri Chiranjit of AIR Delhi, whose composition was approved in 1976, but attempts to record it were delayed due to various logistical issues.

4. Concurrently, the Film Division was producing the documentary “A Cadet’s Diary” and found success using the song “Ham Sab Hindi Hain,” originally performed at a Youth Festival in Chandigarh around 1968-69, which subsequently gained popularity within the NCC.

5. In 1982, during the Asian Games (ASIAD), the song was officially recorded in its current form, leading to its widespread admiration among NCC cadets. Despite its popularity, the song's original writer remains uncertain, with multiple claims of authorship without clear attribution. It is now a beloved anthem sung during key NCC events.
