Introduction:

Industrial field trips are an essential part of academic learning, providing students with practical exposure to real-world working environments. TGTWRDC Girls, Khammam organized two industrial visits for students to enhance their knowledge beyond the classroom — one to an IT Hub and another to KTPS (Kothagudem Thermal Power Station).

Objectives of the Field Trips:

• To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application
• To provide exposure to industrial and corporate environments
• To understand real-time operations in IT and power sectors
• To enhance students’ technical and professional skills
• To create awareness about career opportunities

Visit 1: IT Hub

Date: 26 August 2025

Overview:

Students visited an IT Hub to understand the functioning of software companies and the corporate work culture. The visit provided insights into modern technologies and software development processes.

Learning Outcomes:

• Understanding of software development lifecycle
• Exposure to programming, web development, and IT services
• Awareness of workplace ethics and team collaboration
• Knowledge about emerging technologies like AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity

Activities:

• Interaction with IT professionals
• Demonstration of software tools and applications

The Managing Director of Techno Vision Company interacted with the students and shared insights on entrepreneurial challenges and opportunities in the IT sector. He emphasized the importance of innovation, teamwork, and continuous skill upgradation for success in the industry.

The Entrepreneurship Manager, Mr. Balu Pravarakya, conducted a highly engaging session on idea incubation, start-up building, and leadership development. He encouraged students to think creatively and explained the various stages of transforming an idea into a successful venture.

The visit to Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) provided students with practical knowledge about electricity generation through thermal energy. It helped students understand large-scale industrial operations.

Learning Outcomes:

• Understanding of power generation process using coal
• Knowledge of turbines, boilers, and generators
• Awareness of safety measures and environmental considerations
• Insight into energy production and distribution systems

Activities:

• Guided tour of the power plant
• Explanation of machinery and control systems
• Interaction with technical staff
